Moana's First Year

Happy Birthday, Moana! A year ago today I was grunting and screaming and pushing and then POP! Out came this beautiful little girl who would change my world forever.

I know you're all waiting for the first birthday cake video... it's coming soon... still working on changing the privacy setting on You Tube so I can view it... but until then... if you've got a spare 20 minutes on this Tuesday, check this out! Ok, I know you really don't have a spare 20 minutes, so really this is just for my mom. And me. I have spent 20 minutes over and over watching it and I still cry every time.

Thanks to my amazing friend Jenny for putting this video together. Priceless.

I didn't quite have 20mins but I watched a fair bit :) Wow what a great thing to be able to show Moana when she's older, it's not just her journey in the year either, it's the whole family Simmons journey... wonderful x

Okay, totally wasn't planning on watching the whole thing but once I started I could stop!!! Geez Michelle - that video really put into perspective for me how far you've come in just 1 year. I think because I didn't start reading your blog until the spring I didn't quite understand that you just had a baby!!! And then you qualified for Kona!!! And then you DID Kona!!! :) What a great friend you have for putting that all together. Your family is so beautiful.

Is it really a whole year? That means that it's (almost) a year since I found your blog. Thanks for inspiring a lot of us!! :) Love the video, especially some of the videos that didn't make your regular blogging.

Unlike everyone else, I was beaming watching this video (although I totally get the tears); it just reminded me so much of when my son was born. However, the IM part reminded me of how far I still have to go; that made me cry a little...

What an amazing friend in Jenny you have to do this for you. Happy Birthday Moana!

I didn't have the 20 minutes but that's awesome that someone put that together for you. And like others, it was making me all teary eyed - not professional.

Happy Birthday Moana!

That was lovely. I cried when a grandmother got into the car with baby Moana. As a new grandmother, it hit me in the heart.

Your daughter is beautiful and developing quite a little personality. I enjoy following her growth and your training. You are an inspiration as an athlete and as a mother. Well done.

I'm with Beth, I wasn't going to watch the whole thing, but I had to see how it ended! ;) Even though I already knew!
What an awesome video, and I was happy and teary-eyed all at the same time! Congrats on an awesome year! :)
