Daddy Daughter Bonding

So my next post was going to be about my weekend with Jenny and the drama on my flight to Seattle, but I just had to post this first.

Like I said on my blog yesterday, the first thing I noticed about Moana was that her hair had grown so much while I was gone. Then I noticed that she just said, "ma ma ma ma ma ma ma..." repeatedly all evening, though she was also practicing making the 'g' sound, which is new. Later, when I took her for a walk, I saw that her legs are now long enough that her knees bend over the seat in her stroller, allowing her feet to hang down instead of straight forward. AND, she started waving! These kids don't stop growing and learning for a second, do they? It was amazing to me to pick out all the little changes in just a few days.

In good news, she didn't take her first step so I was not deprived of witnessing that while I was gone.

Anyway, another thing I noticed was how cute she and Scott were together last night. It's clear that they had a really good weekend together. He kept her busy, that's for sure. He had a soccer tournament over the weekend so she hung out with him on the soccer fields both days and was watched by whoever happened to not be playing at the moment. He said she charmed all those old men. Not surprising.

The best part was the videos though. Scott took a few and showed them to me last night. I cried. Mostly because I was laughing so hard.

Here is Scott's attempt to feed Moana breakfast. You really only need to watch for the first 90 seconds or so to see the good part.

And, um, I just hope CPS doesn't come visit me tomorrow after posting this one.

Isn't crazy how much they change! I swear Zach grows at daycare.

Great videos! Moana is too funny with the beer bottle. It's amazing how they already want what they know they shouldn't have at such a young age.

haha - love the first video where Scott is talking excitedly about breakfast and Moana is too busy watching soccer on TV to notice. She recovered super-fast after the "banana-in-the-eye" episode too. cute!

The banana feeding video was hysterical!!! I don't think Scott could have made that video any funnier if he tried.

What is with babies and beer cans and bottles? Elena is attracted to them too, must be because they aren't supposed to have them.

Scott feeding Moana is priceless! I love how the volume of the game on in the background increased while he was trying to wipe the banana out of her eye :) And the cat peeking over the couch - awesome :) What a great dad, though - he did it!

Beer Bottle and Sam Adams not condoning that sort of thing. LOVE it! :)

The best part has to be at the start of the first one, where Moana gets it her breakfast on her face, and Scott says, "Ohhhh .. " at exactly the same time the soccer commentator makes a similar statement. I love it when things work out like that. He did a great job! Funny - neither my husband and I are huge soccer fans but we ended up sitting down and watching a highlights review of Premier League last night - those commentators are so funny!

How freakin' cute are those videos! I loved how he dropped the spoon on the ground and licked it off to clean it - PRICELESS! And her fascination with the beer bottle... I think I was like that too, but don't worry I never was a wild child.

CONGRATS on your race too!!! Sounds like you and I have the same running woes. But if you can do it, then so can I :-)

Glad to hear that she saved you from missing her first steps! :)

Oh my goodness, that first video was hysterical! I love how calm Scott is but I'm sure inside he's thinking, "How the hell am I going to make it through this weekend by myself?!" Love it!!

Hilarious! The feeding...hehehe...I'm still laughing.

The first time I left Ryan it was for a week and when I came back he looked completely different. I swore my mom and dad took him to the park and switched him with some other kid.
